Purpose

Grand Junction HSSE Manager is responsible for leading, implementing, and continuously improving the Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental performance of the Grand Junction site, ensuring full compliance with applicable U.S. regulations and Total Energies standards.

Perimeter

One industrial manufacturing site located in Grand Junction (CO)
3 batch units with approx. 3,500 MT/y production of butadiene-based specialty resins (Ricon, Ricobond, Ricacryl)
Includes production units, logistics/warehouses, laboratories (QC/Applications)

Context / Environment

Chemical manufacturing environment (high hazard / process safety focus).
U.S. regulatory framework with strong enforcement requirements.
Interaction with multiple internal stakeholders and external authorities.
Industrial site requiring high level of operational discipline and crisis readiness.

Responsibilities

Organize and conduct HSSE trainings (e.g., safety, first aid, emergency response).

Manage incident reporting, tracking, and corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with Hazard Communication (SDS, labeling).

Implement and maintain regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act).

Lead Process Safety Management (PSM) implementation and conduct risk assessments (PHA, HAZOP, MOC).

Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis (REX).

Develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate drills.

Ensure environmental permits compliance and manage emissions and waste reporting.

Lead sustainability initiatives (energy efficiency, emissions reduction).

Maintain Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, One MAESTRO) and lead HSSE audits.

Ensure contractor HSSE compliance and maintain relationships with local authorities and stakeholders.

Promote strong safety culture and coach managers and employees on HSSE practices.

Support operational excellence through risk management and continuous improvement.

Represent the site on HSSE matters externally.

Maintain site readiness for emergency and crisis situations.

Deliver HSSE performance aligned with Group objectives (HSEQ and sustainability).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing operations.
Proven experience in HSSE management in an industrial or chemical environment.
Strong knowledge of U.S. HSSE regulations (OSHA, EPA).
Experience in high-hazard industrial environments (process safety exposure).
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work cross‑functionally in an international environment.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this position is $145,000 – $165,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on competencies and experience of the selected candidate.
