Job Description

Job Summary:

The Director of Labor & Delivery is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the clinical operations, staff development, and quality initiatives within the Labor & Delivery department. The position ensures the delivery of safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to mothers, newborns, and families.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Labor & Delivery department.
  • Lead and support nursing and clinical staff through recruitment, mentorship, and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards.
  • Monitor departmental performance and spearhead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experiences.
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, neonatal teams, and hospital leadership to support integrated care and departmental objectives.
  • Manage departmental resources, staffing, and budgeting to maintain efficient operations.
Qualifications:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or ability to obtain.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience in Labor & Delivery.
  • At least 5 years of progressive leadership or management experience in healthcare.
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required; additional maternal or neonatal certifications preferred.
