Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The RN uses the nursing process, technology, therapeutic interventions, evidence‑based practice, and coordination with the health team.
Training ProgramThis full‑time, 24‑week paid training program combines didactic learning with clinical preceptorship. The program is available to new caregivers starting 8/17/2026 and cohort starts 8/24/2026. Participants are compensated for training hours and become benefit‑eligible.

St. Marys Regional Hospital – Grand Junction, Colorado
Essential Functions- Assess:
Perform assessment of the patient’s physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills, and consult interdisciplinary team members. - Plan:
Use assessment information and critical thinking to develop an individualized plan of care, involving the patient, family, team, and physician, and prepare for ongoing needs. - Implement:
Direct the interdisciplinary team through delegation and coordination, delivering or delegating care according to the plan and professional licensure provisions, prioritizing and organizing patient care delivery. - Evaluate:
Review patient response to interventions, assess achievement of goals, and revise the plan of care as needed. - Professionalism:
Promote the nursing profession, uphold legal and ethical standards, comply with regulatory requirements, practice within scope of licensure, provide accurate and timely documentation, and understand legal implications of care delivery.

- Current RN license in the state of practice; compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days of employment start.
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four years of hire.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution; title will be verified.
- BSN required as of the job description’s last update (4/27/2025). Employees hired or promoted prior to that date will be held to the preceding requirements.
- Ability to see, read, and interpret information, labels, and patient needs.
- Capacity for verbal communication, listening, and understanding spoken information, including alarms during emergencies.
- Manual dexterity for manipulating equipment, including computer use, typing, and medication preparation.
- Ability to lift, transfer, bend, and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items.
- Capability to walk, assist with transporting patients, and navigate crowded, busy spaces.
- Potential for standing for extended periods.
- For driving roles: ability to drive safely, reading signs and signals.
St. Marys Regional Hospital, Grand Junction, Colorado
Hours & Compensation40 hours per week. Hourly rate: $37.45 – $57.29, dependent on experience.
