Job Title
This is a temporary position (9 months or less) - $17.00/hour depending on experience with an opportunity for increase during the course of employment. Employment starts March-May through September-October. This announcement will remain open until filled. You are encouraged to apply early.
This position is up to 40 hours per week and up to nine months in duration. School schedules may be accommodated. Housing is not provided.

Job DescriptionA customer service based position that involves working in a visitor center greeting visitors, or may be assigned to work in the field in specialized duties at some parks. Daily interaction with park visitors requires effective communication and public relations skills. Specific duties may include:
- Provide information on the park and the area to visitors
- Utilize a Point of Sale System to sell passes, permits, camping, registrations, fishing/hunting license and gift certificates
- Answer telephones and take detailed messages.
- Accurately collect revenue, complete shift report and shift box at end of each shift.
- Prepare campground reservations forms and documents. (Island Acres and Fruita)
- May document and report visitor complaints.
- Cleaning and light maintenance duties of interior and offices, restrooms, kitchen, watering plants, and litter pick up.
- May assist with special events or programs within the park.
- Prioritize job duties
- Multi-tasking

Minimum Qualifications , Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal RightsBasic requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
- Previous experience handling money and working with the public is helpful but not required.
- May need to undergo criminal background investigation.
- Possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- May be required to work the entrance station for an 8 or 10 hour shift
- May not be able to leave for lunch
