What You Can Expect

Our Avionics Maintenance Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting and repairing problems to the component level on avionics units (i.e., Navs, Coms, Pulse, Radar, Audio and Autopilot Systems), as well as the aircraft systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general avionics support items on aircraft, including removal and installation of panels and components, and repair work.
  • Troubleshoot and evaluate aircraft systems when designated.
  • Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components when designated.
  • Verify aircraft movement and performance of systems.
  • Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling to support operations.
  • Work with customers in project management, pricing, and support roles.
  • Work independently on projects.
  • Perform any other job‑related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate (speak, write, read) in English.
  • Use basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
Your Education

A high school diploma or equivalent. Electronics or Avionics factory training is preferred.

Your Experience
  • Tech I (0‑2 years) – Limited to no knowledge of the position; requires close supervision and constant check‑ins on work performance.
  • Tech II (2‑4 years) – Noticeable knowledge of the job with a broad understanding of detailed aspects; requires general supervision and instructions.
  • Tech III (4‑6 years) – Full knowledge of the job and complete understanding of detailed aspects; limited supervision is required and can act as a trainer or mentor to other technicians.
  • Master Technician (6+ years) – Exclusive knowledge in all areas of the job; subject matter expert with wide and comprehensive knowledge.
Your Initiative

We’re looking for team players who are self‑motivated and able to perform in a fast‑paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common. Dealing with customers and the capacity to perform work with minimal supervision will also be required.

Your Sense Of Responsibility

Attend work every day as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments. Notify the supervisor in advance if unable to work. Must have reliable transportation and perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines, company and safety rules, and maintain customer‑oriented work habits.

Physical Requirements
  • Lifts 50 lbs.
  • Routine walking, bending, squatting, or sitting.
  • Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
  • Standing for long periods.
  • Climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas.
  • Basic computer skills.
Mental Requirements
  • Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate, and perform functional tests for various avionics and instrument systems.
  • Work with others in a professional manner.
Supervision

Work under the supervision of an assigned Avionics Team Leader.

Working Conditions

The work is performed in a hangar environment subject to extreme temperature variations, ranging from very cold to very hot. Work outside during aircraft runs will occur, and there are varied positions in and around the aircraft.

  • Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.
  • Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
  • Jacks, stands, lifts, and other support devices.
  • Tugs, power carts, and other engine‑powered equipment.
  • Crimpers, soldering iron, and heat guns.
  • Personal computer and work order prints.
Compensation & Benefits

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $22‑$35, varying based on location, experience, and performance. Additional compensation may include a shift differential for alternate shifts, a semi‑annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) company match, and employer contribution to a Health Savings Account (HSA).
