What you can expect as an Avionics Install Technician at West Star:Whether you are replacing or repairing complex avionics systems, troubleshooting electrical systems or performing inspections on some of the most sophisticated civilian aircraft in the world, no day is the same. What is the same, is that each day will bring new experiences and opportunities for growth.
Our 2nd shift schedule is Monday-Thursday, 3pm-1am. The shift incentive includes a 10%-15% premium, paid lunch, 3 day weekends, formal airframe training and eligibility to transfer to 1st shift after 3 years. You Will Be ESSENTIAL To Many FUNCTIONS Including
- Removal and installation of panels, components and interiors, as well as repair work on avionics installations.
- Stamp, bundle and install connectors on wiring.
- Removal of old wiring and installation of new wire bundles in aircraft.
- Troubleshooting and evaluation of avionics systems on the aircraft when designated.
- Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components when designated.
- Aircraft movement and assistance in hangar stack when required
- Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling
- Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases
- Work within a team process
- Work independently on projects when required.
- Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
A High school diploma or equivalent. Electronics or Avionics training is preferred. A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
Your Experience Tech I0-2 years of experience in avionics, military avionics or electrical field
These technicians have very limited to no knowledge of the position
This level requires close supervision and constant check ins on work performance
Tech II2-4 years of experience in avionics or military avionics field.
Considerable knowledge of the job with a broad understanding of detailed aspects
Will need general supervision and instructions
Tech III4-6 years of experience in avionics or military avionics field.
Full knowledge of the job and complete understanding of detailed aspects
Limited supervision is required.
No instruction needed and can act as a trainer or mentor to other technicians
Master Technician6+ years' experience with corporate/business avionics systems
Exclusive knowledge in all areas of the job
This technician is a subject matter expert with a wide and comprehensive knowledge of the job.

Your Sense Of ResponsibilityAttend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.
Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day
