Mobile Oil Service Technician

This is a skilled position requiring the individual to perform maintenance and repair of all company equipment, and assigned duties. This position will be primarily a lube technician position. During the slow season the tech will be required to work in the shop performing maintenance on trucks and equipment.

This position requires working a combination of day and swing shifts, including weekends, travel, and frequent work outside of normal business hours.

Wage Range: $25 to $30 per hour, dependent upon experience

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

Primary responsibility will be performing preventative maintenance services on trucks and equipment. Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists and hand tools. Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.

Repairs or replaces defective parts. Services equipment as necessary. Lubricates and cleans parts. Taking oil samples and keeping good records on equipment. Inspects welds, broken parts and structural members. Must be able to function in the role with minimal interaction or supervision much of the time. Must be able to work in PM programs such as Hexagon. Must be able to work in Timecard programs such as Workforce.

Must be self-motivated. Must be able to inspect and identify vehicles for DOT violations. Other duties as assigned per supervisor.

Education and/or

Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Class B CDL is required. Air brakes, manual transmission endorsements preferred. DOT Medical Card.

Work Requirements:
Must be 18 years in age or older. Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Must be willing to work nights and weekends, when necessary. Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.

Language

Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical

Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read a measuring tape.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
