Addiction Technician - PRN

• $20.00 starting rate + experience
• Night and weekend hourly differentials available

• Certified Addiction Counselor Certification (CAC) and previous human services experience preferred.
• Valid Colorado Driver’s License.
• Ability to work irregular hours and shifts including days, swings, graveyard shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use conditions desired.

Addiction Technicians will work with clients in Withdrawal Management and/or Residential programs, including providing milieu management. They will serve as client advocates, provide mentorship and education, and model wellness and recovery. They will engage clients in withdrawal management‑specific therapy and monitor clients during active detoxification to ensure physical stability.

• CPR/BLS Certification for Healthcare Provider prior to independent patient care required.
• Verbal De‑Escalation certification required prior to independent patient care; must be able to provide verbal de‑escalation and physical & mechanical restraints if necessary.
• Organizational and creative problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to observe, report, and document client’s recovery process in an electronic health record (EHR).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to utilize individual and group supervision to develop proficiency.
• Ability to take initiative independently and as part of a treatment team.
• Uphold the mission and goals of MSH/WSH.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to maintain effective working relationships.
• Working knowledge of Windows‑based applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet).
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment (keyboard, calculator, copy machine, fax, multi‑line telephone).
• Prior knowledge of AA/NA helpful.
• Emotional maturity and professional decorum.
• Basic counseling skills (active listening, empathy, appropriate response).
• Ability to perform during nighttime hours if required.

Must lift or move up to 25 pounds, frequently walk, sit, stand, kneel, climb, or balance, and stoop. Should sit for long periods at a computer. Must travel between Health Solutions West sites. May be exposed to stressful situations with enraged, distraught, intoxicated individuals. Possible exposure to communicable disease. Noise level usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations available.
