Delivery Driver

Shaw is looking for a Delivery Driver based in Grand Junction. The Delivery Driver will make deliveries of equipment, materials, tools, wood framing panels, etc. to various construction project sites on the Western Slope.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains a current Class A CDL and Class B CDL, Commercial Driver’s License
  • Prepares DOT‑required log of time on duty and driving.
  • Organizes and secures loads.
  • Assists forklift operators when loading.
  • Confirms orders for accuracy.
  • Unloads/loads materials if necessary.
  • Complete and maintain DVIR, Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports in accordance with State, Federal and Company Requirements, including daily pre‑inspection (392.7), in‑route (392.9) and post‑inspections (396.11) and maintains proper log books of each.
  • Competency with and confidence to perform Federal and DOT inspections including Levels I through Level VI.
  • Records all equipment or material that is returned to the yard.
  • Follows guidelines established by the Department of Transportation.
  • Must verify compliance with US Department of Transportation (USDOT) English Proficiency Requirements for Truckers effective June 25, 2025.
  • Operates all trucks in a safe and efficient manner, maintains records regarding equipment use and time charged.
  • Assists supervisor, other associates and other work areas, as assigned.
  • Assists in maintaining good housekeeping in the yard.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School GED level education preferred.
  • Ability to read orders, write instructions and complete forms (in English).
  • 12 months of CDL experience including lumber and equipment transport.
Certifications / Required Training
  • Load securement certification
  • Clean driving record and current operator’s license.
  • Dusty and noisy environment when operating machines and tools. Ear protection required when exposed to noise for an extended period of time. Eye protection and steel‑toed hard‑sole leather boots required at all times. Hard Hat, Safety Vest, Safety Glasses as required by each Shaw project specific PPE requirements.
  • Overtime and irregular work could be involved.
Skills Required

Physical strength, hand‑eye coordination and endurance. Must be able to concentrate on assigned tasks. The ability to understand and communicate information is also essential. Ability to read, understand and execute work in compliance with construction documents. Ability to understand State and Federal Road Rules and Regulations, safety requirements, be aware of safety hazards, and to work safely at all times.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, use construction personnel hoists, climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction.
  • Vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; sit, talk and hear; stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Regularly works on‑site at construction/project sites and equipment/lumber yard where employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Noise is usually moderate to very loud.
Compensation
  • Pay Type:

    Hourly (non‑exempt)
  • Pay Range: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
