CDL Truck Driver Commercial PTO

Job Summary

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks with front, side, or rear‑end load lift attachments depending on the line of business and the type of truck. They transport material to disposal, transfer or recycle facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Commercial Drivers provide pickup services for containers filled with waste or recyclable material which may weigh over 1,000 pounds and sometimes require maneuvering wheeled containers to a pickup stage.

They navigate high‑traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots, performing highly skilled backing maneuvers. Residential Drivers collect household waste or recyclable material, safely maneuvering vehicles in residential environments. Roll‑off Drivers prepare, load, and transport large mobile open‑top and compactor containers from customer locations, navigating tight overhead environments on industrial routes, and also require advanced backing skills.

• Operate vehicle in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA and DOT requirements, and all applicable laws.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and document checks using the standard DVIR.
• Immediately report unsafe situations or service‑related issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required by WM or directed by Route Manager.
• Work closely with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
• Notify Operations Manager of incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notify Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles too heavy to service, or potential safety hazards.
• Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Completely dump all receptacles and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
• Follow route assignments as directed and complete end‑of‑day documentation and check‑out process.
• Perform all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

• 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL.
• 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Legal eligibility to work in the country where the position is located.
• Class A CDL with an air‑brake endorsement upon hire.
• Class B CDL with an air‑brake endorsement upon hire.

The expected base pay range for this on‑site position is $26 per hour. This range represents a good faith estimate; the specific salary offered may be influenced by experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
