Job Summary
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks with front, side, or rear‑end load lift attachments depending on the line of business and the type of truck. Drivers transport material to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Commercial Drivers provide pickup service of containers filled with waste or recyclable material, often weighing in excess of 1,000 pounds. Residential Drivers collect residential household waste or recyclable material, and must maneuver vehicles in residential environments.
Roll‑off Drivers prepare, load, and transport large mobile open‑top and compactor containers, navigating driveways, alleyways, and high‑traffic roadways.
- Operate vehicle in accordance with WM safety and life critical rules, OSHA and DOT requirements, and all local, state and federal laws.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and document checks with a standard DVIR.
- Immediately report unsafe situations or service‑related issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings.
- Work closely with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
- Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Notify Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles that are too heavy to service, or potential safety hazards.
- Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
- Completely dump all receptacles and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
- Follow route assignments as directed and complete end‑of‑day documentation and check‑out process.
- Perform all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers as directed.

Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL.
- At least 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
- Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
- Must hold a Class A CDL with an air‑brake endorsement, or a Class B CDL with an air‑brake endorsement, upon hire.

Pay: The expected base pay range for this on‑site position is $25 per hour. This range is a good‑faith estimate and may be influenced by experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
