CDL Truck Driver Residential

Job Summary

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks with front, side, or rear‑end load lift attachments depending on the line of business and the type of truck. They transport material to disposal, transfer or recycle facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Commercial Drivers provide pick‑up service of containers filled with waste or recyclable material, often weighing in excess of 1,000 pounds, and must maneuver wheeled containers into a pick‑up stage area.

They navigate high‑traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots, using high‑skill backing maneuvers. Residential Drivers collect residential household waste or recyclable material and must safely maneuver vehicles in residential environments. Roll‑off Drivers prepare, load, and transport large mobile open‑top and compactor containers from customer locations, navigating driveways, alleyways, lots, and high‑traffic roadways, and often operating in tight overhead environments.

• Operate vehicle in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, and DOT requirements, and all local, state, and federal laws.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections of assigned vehicle and document checks using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
• Immediately report all unsafe situations or service‑related issues to the Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required.
• Work closely with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
• Notify the Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notify the Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, overly heavy receptacles, or potential safety hazards.
• Communicate customer requests to the Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Completely dump all receptacles and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
• Follow route assignments as directed and complete end‑of‑day documentation and check‑out process.
• Perform all duties as scheduled by the Operations Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

• At least 1 year of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or 1 year of equivalent military driving experience within the last 7 years.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
• Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with an air‑brake endorsement, or Class B CDL with an air‑brake endorsement, obtained upon hire.

The expected base pay range for this on‑site position is $25 per hour. This range represents a good‑faith estimate and may vary based on experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
