This hourly position requires an energetic individual to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented shipping/receiving environment. The individual will be responsible for accurate data entry and excellent organizational skills, reading and interpreting documents such as vendor invoices, packing slips, bills of lading, and internal company documents.
Key Responsibilities- Receive all incoming parts under strict FAA receiving regulations.
- Verify material with invoice or packing sheet.
- Stage parts for distribution by runners to various work orders and other departments.
- Receive and prep shipments for outside sales customers.
- Package shipments with proper labeling by carrier.
- Log all shipments by specified carrier.
- Track packages when required.
- Occasionally help parts counter personnel.
- Assess freight charges and bill to appropriate work orders.
- Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
- Good organizational skills, high attention to detail, strong written/verbal/analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Fed Ex Ship Manager/UPS Worldship software.
- Forklift experience.
- Experience with receiving inspections, documentation and traceability of aircraft parts per FAA regulations.
- Experience handling static sensitive and fragile electromechanical product.
Lifts up to 50 lbs. Routine walking, bending and use of stairs.
Mental RequirementsWork with others in a professional manner, prioritize workload, and work with new or upgraded computer systems.
Working ConditionsOccasionally will work outside in all types of weather on large projects.
Equipment UsedPC computer, telephone, fax, calculator, Fed Ex and UPS software, forklift, power/hand tools and packaging foam and banding machines.
Compensation & BenefitsThe hourly rate generally ranges between $20.00 and $24.00, with additional compensation in the form of a shift differential if assigned to an alternate shift. Other forms of compensation include a semi-annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) company match, and employer contribution to a Health Savings Account (HSA).
