We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day invoice and payment operations for a contract position based in Plano, Texas. This role is ideal for someone who brings strong attention to detail, accuracy in financial processing, and confidence handling high-volume payable activities. The successful candidate will help maintain timely disbursements, ensure proper coding of expenses, and contribute to smooth accounts payable workflows.

Responsibilities include:

• Process vendor invoices accurately and assign the correct general ledger or account codes before entry.
• Review submitted bills for completeness, verify supporting documentation, and resolve discrepancies with internal teams or vendors.
• Prepare and execute payment activities through ACH transactions and scheduled check runs in accordance with deadlines.
• Maintain organized records of payable documents to support audit readiness and efficient retrieval of financial information.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and investigate outstanding items to ensure balances remain accurate.
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, invoice questions, and issue resolution in a thorough manner.
• Assist with periodic closing activities by tracking payable obligations and supporting reporting needs.
