Job Function
Oversee, coordinate, and improve all functions related to student information, including the required reporting of this data to the Texas Education Agency.
DutiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following.
Records and Reports- Coordinates the collection of all student data required for PEIMS submissions according to Texas Education Data Standards and Student Attendance Accounting Handbook.
- Collaborates with the enrollment department, special programs coordinators, campus administration, and other district staff to ensure the accuracy of all data.
- Coordinates auditing of data against campus reports.
- Oversees the district’s student attendance procedures and works collaboratively with the campus attendance clerks to ensure that student attendance documentation is error free.
- Ensures that PEIMS submissions are error free and submitted to the Texas Education Agency by the appropriate deadlines.
- Coordinates and completes other required submissions including, but not limited to, Foundation School Program, the Civil Rights Data Collection, and Early Childhood Data System.
- Assists district personnel in extracting and compiling student data for NCLB and state assessments.
- Provides training and support to district staff regarding the Texas Education Data Standards and Student Attendance Accounting Handbook and related policies and procedures.
- Attends all regional PEIMS training.
- Complies with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
- Compiles, maintains, and files all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
- Assists the enrollment department with tasks to help improve efficiency and data quality.
- Fulfills records requests for current and former students.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records.

- Ability and/or willingness to learn to use and understand Microsoft Office for spreadsheets, letters and other written communications in order to effectively communicate information with employees, administration and the Board.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to grasp, handle, or feel; endure prolonged use of the computer; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Requirements- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree; or
- Four years’ experience in an administrative position requiring collecting and entering data.
