Structured Cabling / Technology Systems Estimator

Location: Grand Prairie, Texas, United States

We are seeking an experienced Structured Cabling / Technology Systems Estimator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience estimating commercial low‑voltage and structured cabling projects, including data centers, healthcare, manufacturing, and commercial office buildings. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing project documents, coordinating with vendors and project teams, and supporting the successful execution of technology infrastructure projects.

• Review project drawings, specifications, and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to prepare accurate estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for structured cabling, fiber optic, and low‑voltage systems.
• Prepare labor, material, and equipment cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Develop and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) as needed.
• Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers to obtain pricing and product information.
• Prepare detailed Scope of Work (SOW), proposals, bid documents, and project submittals.
• Identify scope gaps and recommend value‑engineering opportunities.
• Conduct site visits and surveys when required.
• Collaborate with sales, project managers, engineers, and field teams throughout the estimating process.
• Prepare change orders and assist with project turnover to operations.
• Maintain knowledge of current industry standards, products, and best practices.

• 10+ years of estimating experience in structured cabling, low‑voltage, or technology systems.
• Strong experience estimating commercial construction projects valued at $1M–$5M or larger.
• Experience with structured cabling systems, including copper and fiber optic infrastructure.
• Knowledge of BICSI and TIA/EIA cabling standards.
• Experience with blueprint review, quantity takeoffs, budgeting, and cost modeling.
• Strong understanding of RFPs, RFIs, change orders, and bid preparation.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and estimating software.

• RCDD certification strongly preferred; additional BICSI certifications are a plus.
• Experience with Mission Critical/Data Centers, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Commercial Office projects.
• Familiarity with manufacturers such as Comm Scope, Panduit, Corning, Leviton, or Belden.
• Knowledge of Audio/Visual (AV) and Electronic Security Systems.
• Field installation experience in structured cabling or low‑voltage systems.
