About this Role

North Star Energy Solutions, a Quanta Services Company, is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the successful execution of electric utility construction projects. In this role, you will provide field leadership for construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements. You will serve as the primary field representative, working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, clients, and utility representatives to coordinate construction activities, resolve issues, and drive project success from mobilization through project closeout.

What

You’ll Do

Construction Leadership

  • Lead day-to-day construction activities on electric utility projects, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate field operations with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and utility representatives.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve field issues that may impact safety, schedule, or quality.
  • Ensure all work complies with company safety policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations.

Project Coordination

  • Support project planning by coordinating labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities.
  • Assist with project scheduling and monitor progress to help ensure milestones are achieved.
  • Coordinate outages, inspections, testing, and commissioning activities with project stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective communication between field operations and project management teams.

Client & Contractor Relations

  • Serve as a primary field contact for clients, subcontractors, inspectors, and utility representatives.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates on construction progress, challenges, and upcoming activities.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

Quality & Safety

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all company, client, OSHA, and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
  • Identify deficiencies and oversee corrective actions to maintain project quality standards.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate daily reports, field documentation, and project records.
  • Assist with tracking production, equipment utilization, material deliveries, and workforce productivity.
  • Support project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, punch lists, and project closeout activities.
What You’ll Bring
  • 8+ years of construction management or field leadership experience in electric utility construction.
  • Strong understanding of utility construction methods, safety practices, scheduling, and project execution.
  • Transmission and substation construction experience is a plus.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, subcontractors, and multiple project stakeholders.
