The position of Generator Shop Technician is primarily responsible to diagnose, repair and maintain portable generators. This position may also require but not limited to the following duties: field service repairs, re-fueling, delivering and picking up portable generators, technical support and some travel as needed.
Job Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and make repairs to generator fleet.
- Working with operations manager and generator fleet manager to prioritize repairs.
- Ordering of parts for repairs.
- Must be able to operate a forklift.
- Must be able to assist field operations when needed.
- Ability to drive a company vehicle.
- On call rotation once approved to work in field.
- Must have extensive knowledge of diesel engines.
- Generator experience a plus.
- Is able to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
- Working knowledge of both Isuzu, Cat, Cummins, Doosan, MQ, MMD, Volvo, and John Deere engines and generators a plus.
- Able to use computer and related software to trouble shoot engine and generator controls.
- Must have mechanical background.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
