Overview
You will be the Software Quality Engineer for our team in Grand Prairie, TX. Our team is responsible for developing and maintaining Systems/Software Quality Engineering (SSQE) common processes that align with AS9100 Quality Management System, Capability Maturity Model-Integrated (CMMI), and customer requirements.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Software Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our software processes from requirements through testing, supporting test equipment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues, and driving compliance with contractual and company requirements. You will focus on systems, software, suppliers and test equipment/test stations, working closely with test engineering, systems/software development personnel, and program team members.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Focusing on Systems and Software for the entire lifecycle.
- Focusing on test equipment and test sets, working directly with test engineering and program teams.
- Working directly with supplier on software related efforts.
- Identifying root causes and corrective actions including performing process/product evaluations/audits.
- Evaluating data to identify systemic test equipment issues and trends.
- Participating in peer reviews of software and test equipment requirements, design, code and documentation.
- Collaborating with software suppliers and participating in program reviews and testing events at suppliers.

The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Ability to travel up to ~50% of the time (LM sites, suppliers, testing sites, etc.)
- Ability to be on-call when needed to support program milestones and ability to work outside of normal business hours such as weekend support or after 5pm
- Technical degree, preferably in one of the following disciplines:
Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering - Understanding of Systems & Software and Test Equipment Processes including Performance Metrics
Experience In Requirements, Design, Code And Proof & Validation (P&V) Testing
- Ability to interpret Schematic Drawings and Specifications, that will enable test equipment development
- Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex
- Ability to interpret Lab View and/or Test Stand code
- Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.
- ASQ CSQE (Certified Software Quality Engineer)
- Strong knowledge of Industry recognized Quality systems/models such as CMMI, ISO, AS, and FAA regulation
- Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certified
- Experience with Software Suppliers support of test stations
- Experience with Government customers (DoD programs)
- In-depth knowledge of software C++/C programming language
- In-depth knowledge of test stations/test sets including validation, verification and certification
- Strong knowledge of Lab View and Test Stand
- Effective Communication
Skills:
Written, Oral, Listening, Presentation and Technical Writing - Effective interpersonal skills, including Team building and Collaboration
