The Electrical Products (EP) Business Unit offers a full range of low-voltage power distribution and control products that deliver safe, reliable, and efficient electrical solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial markets.
We are looking for an Engineering Test Technician for 2nd shift, which must be flexible to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, to join our team! This position will be based at our Grand Prairie, TX site.You’ll make a difference by:
- Maintaining quality of high custom and sophisticated products for Electrical Products; testing and inspecting Low Voltage Switchgear and Switchboards to applicable standards (i.e. UL1558, UL891, IEEE, etc)
- Use multimeter and electronic theory to verify power readings and circuit design to ensure accurate wiring and operation.
- Use Hipot, test card, hand tools and various other tools to aid in testing.
- Use specialized software for testing/inspecting when required (i.e. Siemens WinPM, Step 7, Micro Win, WinC Flexible, SAP, etc.)
- Perform inspections/audits of mechanical and electrical assemblies.
- Maintain and input records or reports related to testing/inspecting activities.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2+ years exposure to electrical components or knowledge of electrical components.
- Ability/Experience testing and fixing; strong problem solving.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
- Associate Degree.
- 2+ years in capacity of engineering or quality functions for power distribution equipment.
- Knowledge of prevailing codes (UL1558, UL891, UL508).
- Knowledge of power distribution components (breakers, relays, communication devices).
