Manufacturing Robotics and Automation Engineering Manager

You will be the Manufacturing Robotics and Automation Engineering Manager, providing technical management direction to a team of Robotics Engineers in the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (AMT) team at the Grand Prairie, TX facility. Your role focuses on manufacturing automation and robotics solutions for Missiles and Fire Control.

• Oversee cost, schedule, technical planning, risk and opportunity management.
• Support new and existing business proposals with Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
• Support Capital and IRAD planning and execution, vendor/integrator engagement, and project management activities to deploy automated solutions at multiple sites across MFC.
• Perform requirements tasks such as creation of AMT Center demonstrations, tour visits/schedules, lab area configurations and lab technology planning/roadmaps.
• Provide robotics and automation engineering support to sustainment teams operating in multiple manufacturing facilities across MFC.
• Grow the team's technical capabilities through planning, gap assessment, and mentoring/knowledge transfer, focusing on robotics and automation implementations to drive throughput and affordability.
• Lead the team to develop a baseline of current state and identify process variation to drive an improved future state via SIA or continuous improvement activities.
• Approximately 20% travel may be required to facilitate multi-site automation projects.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering discipline from an accredited college.
• Experience leading an engineering team.
• Experience operating in a manufacturing environment, specifically involved with the development of mfg. robotics and automation solutions.
• Knowledge of Mechanical, Hardware, Electronics, or System Engineering Principles.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.

• MBA desired with the ability to understand business component, ROI for new designs and equipment.
• Experience presenting to Senior and Executive Leadership.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and teamwork with internal and external customers for proof‑of‑concept developments to factory deployments.
• Experience resolving schedule conflicts and complex technical challenges requiring integration with cross‑functional teams.
• Trade Studies knowledge.
• Experience with missile design components and subsystems.
• Green or Black Belt Certification.
• Lean manufacturing concepts and deployment of automation equipment in mfg. environment.
• Implementation knowledge of Model Based Engineering methodologies.
• Experience fostering a culture of employee engagement.
• High level of accountability and a proven track record of meeting commitments.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams).
• Capital equipment acquisition and IRAD management experience.
• Knowledge and experience in program requirements development and management in a Laboratory Environment in the Defense Industry.

This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
