Job Overview

Lockheed Martin is seeking a RADAR Signal Processing & Algorithm Engineer for its team in Grand Prairie, TX. The role focuses on developing advanced signal processing algorithms and creating high‑fidelity simulation environments for airborne RADAR systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop signal processing algorithms for RF applications such as RADAR, wireless communications, and software‑defined radios (SDR).
  • Model signal processing algorithms in MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design wireless communication datalinks and RADAR systems for defense applications.
  • Prototype hardware using software‑defined radios (e.g., Ettus USRP) and, optionally, develop real‑time algorithms in programmable logic.
  • Apply RF and digital hardware design principles to co‑develop algorithms that run on datalink and RADAR hardware.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university (advanced degree strongly preferred).
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in digital signal processing for RF.
  • Expert understanding of DSP techniques for RADAR, wireless communications, and SDR.
  • Strong knowledge of wireless channel propagation effects, including path loss and multi‑path fading.
  • Strong mathematics skills: complex arithmetic, linear algebra, probability, and statistics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • U.S. citizen with an active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Desired Skills
  • Hardware prototyping of RF signal‑processing algorithms using software‑defined radios or RADARs such as the Ettus USRP.
  • Developing real‑time algorithms in programmable logic using Simulink & Model Composer, Simulink & System Generator, or Simulink & HDL Coder.
  • Understanding of RFSoC architectures, target‑embedded systems, fixed‑point data types, and RF circuit design.
  • Embedded software design experience for real‑time processing and software architecture.
  • Version control experience (Git/Git Lab).
  • Experience with spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and scripting languages such as MATLAB, Python, or Julia.
  • Understanding of C/C++.
