Position: RADAR Signal Processing & Algorithm Engineer, Staff -Grand Prairie, TX

We are experiencing growth and we are looking for a RADAR Signal Processing & Algorithm Engineer.

You will be the RADAR Signal Processing Engineer for Lockheed Martin's team in Grand Prairie, TX. Our team is at the forefront of Airborne RADAR management, and you will play a key role in developing advanced signal processing algorithms and creating high-fidelity simulation environments.

What You Will Be Doing

The ideal candidate holds a PhD or MS in Electrical Engineering and has experience designing signal processing algorithms for RF applications such as RADAR and wireless communications. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the wireless channel and propagation effects including path loss and multi‑path propagation.

Experience modeling signal processing algorithms in MATLAB or Simulink is required; hardware prototyping of signal processing algorithms using software defined radios or RADARs such as the Ettus USRP is desired but not required.

The candidate will be working with senior engineers to design wireless communications datalinks and RADAR systems for defense applications. RF and digital hardware design principles will also be learned in the co‑development of signal processing algorithms deployed on datalink and RADAR hardware.

The candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have a Secret security clearance with 5‑year update, or possess the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

This position is in Dallas, Texas. This position requires a U.S. Citizen and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications
  • Master’s in Electrical Engineering or other STEM degree.
  • Thorough understanding of digital signal processing (DSP) techniques for RF applications such as RADAR, wireless communications, and software defined radios (SDR).
  • Understanding of wireless channel propagation effects including path loss & multi‑path fading.
  • Strong mathematics skills in complex arithmetic, linear algebra, and probability & statistics.
  • Proficient in modeling signal processing algorithms in MATLAB & Simulink.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • The candidate must be a US Citizen and can obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
Desired Skills
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or other STEM degree.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Hardware prototyping experience of RF signal processing algorithms using software defined radios or RADARs such as the Ettus USRP.
  • Experience developing real‑time signal processing algorithms in programmable logic (PL) using any of the following tools:
    Simulink & Model Composer;
    Simulink & System Generator;
    Simulink & HDL Coder.
  • Understanding of RFSoC architectures and targeting embedded systems.
  • Understanding of fixed point data types.
  • Understanding of RF circuit design and impairments.
  • Other embedded software design experience for real‑time processing and software architecture.
  • Git/Git Lab or other version control tools.
  • Experience using spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and data analysis.
  • Microsoft tools:
    Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Scripting languages such as MATLAB, Python, or Julia.
  • Understanding of C/C++.
