Description
We are seeking a motivated early-career engineer to join our test engineering team. The role involves developing, maintaining, and executing automated test systems with National Instruments LabVIEW software to validate product performance, reliability, and quality. You will integrate hardware and software for data acquisition, functional testing, and automated test sequences in a production or R&D environment.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and debug LabVIEW programs for automated testing of electronic assemblies and sensors.
- Create virtual instruments (VIs) for data acquisition, signal processing, instrument control, and test sequencing.
- Interface LabVIEW with test hardware including NI DAQ devices, PCI chassis, cRIO, oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, and other measurement equipment.
- Assist in writing and executing test plans, procedures, and scripts to verify product requirements and specifications.
- Collect, analyze, and report test data; identify anomalies and support root-cause analysis.
- Maintain and upgrade existing LabVIEW-based test stations; document code and test setups for reproducibility.
- Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve test coverage and efficiency.
- Participate in troubleshooting hardware/software integration issues during test development and execution.
- Support transition of test solutions from prototype/R&D to production environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 1-3 years of experience developing applications in LabVIEW (academic projects, internships, or professional work count).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.).
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD) certification from NI (or working toward it).
- Exposure to NI Test Stand.
- Exposure to NI Hardware Platforms (PXI, cDAQ, Compact
RIO). - Experience with version control (e.g., Git, Perforce) or structured software development practices.
- Prior internship or project experience in automated testing, manufacturing test, or hardware-in-the-loop systems.
This position requires a government security clearance, and you must be a U.S. Citizen. Clearance level:
Secret.
