Job Title: RADAR Signal Processing & Algorithm Engineer

RADAR Signal Processing Engineer for Lockheed Martin’s team in Grand Prairie, TX. The team is at the forefront of airborne radar management and will develop advanced signal processing algorithms and high‑fidelity simulation environments.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Design signal processing algorithms for RF applications, including radar and wireless communications.
  • Model algorithms in MATLAB or Simulink.
  • Work with senior engineers to design wireless communication data‑links and radar systems for defense applications.
  • Possibly prototype algorithms using software‑defined radios or radars such as Ettus USRP (desired but not required).
  • Learn RF and digital hardware design principles in the co‑development of signal processing algorithms deployed on data‑link and radar hardware.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field; advanced degree (MS or PhD) strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Expert understanding of digital signal processing techniques for RF applications such as radar, wireless communications, and software‑defined radios.
  • Strong knowledge of wireless channel propagation effects including path loss and multipath fading.
  • Proficiency in complex arithmetic, linear algebra, probability, and statistics.
  • Expertise in modeling signal processing algorithms in MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship and active Secret clearance (or the ability to obtain one). Must be a U.S. citizen.
Desired Skills
  • Hardware prototyping experience of RF signal processing algorithms using software‑defined radios or radars such as Ettus USRP.
  • Experience developing real‑time signal processing algorithms in programmable logic using tools such as Simulink & Model Composer, Simulink & System Generator, or Simulink & HDL Coder.
  • Understanding of RFSoC architectures and targeting embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with fixed‑point data types.
  • Knowledge of RF circuit design and impairments.
  • Embedded software design experience for real‑time processing and software architecture.
  • Version control using Git/Git Lab or other tools.
  • Experience with spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Scripting skills in MATLAB, Python, or Julia.
  • Understanding of C/C++.
Security Clearance

Secret clearance required. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen and hold an active Secret clearance or have the ability to obtain one.
