Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer who specializes in Modeling and Simulation (M&S) of complex technical solutions. The position is part of a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting various contracts and IRADs within Missiles and Fire Control.
Responsibilities- Design and document model and simulation requirements and architecture.
- Develop, verify, and validate complex models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) and effects‑based simulations.
- Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments, and verify system and subsystem level requirements.
- Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities.
- Support ground and flight test efforts, including Hardware‑In‑The‑Loop (HWIL) activities.
- Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers.
- Work with subsystem and software engineers to integrate MATLAB models, C++ models, and tactical software into simulations.
- Post‑secondary STEM degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Interim DoD clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
- Willingness to work onsite in a classified area or lab environment.
- Experience in digital simulation development for infrared sensor systems.
- Advanced proficiency in C++ and MATLAB (or Python).
- Strong math skills in linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations.
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational communication skills.
- Active U.S. DoD Secret clearance.
- Experience operating in Linux environments.
- Experience with Agile development practices.
- Experience performing GNC assignments such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms.
- Experience developing and/or verifying/validating complex vehicle models and simulations (e.g., missile 6‑DOF).
- Experience developing, verifying, and validating complex Electro‑Optical/Infra Red and/or Radio Frequency sensor models.
- Ability to perform pre‑flight system performance assessment and post‑flight verification analyses.
- Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real‑time performance requirements.
- Experience with Dev Ops/Dev Sec Ops CI/CD pipelines and software version control such as Git.
Secret clearance required. You must be a U.S. Citizen.
