Service Engineer – Permanent, Full‑time
Job LocationGrand Prairie, Texas, United States
Job DescriptionProvides Technical Support to Field Representatives & Customers for Safran Helicopter Engines (HE) in service, maintaining visibility on performance and reliability, and ensuring product safety and improvement through continuous support and engineering activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Deliver expert‑level technical support via phone consultations, email correspondence, and on‑site engagements, ensuring timely resolution of complex issues.
- Draft, validate and authorize technical agreements under design office delegation, aligning with regulatory standards and engineering best practices.
- Lead root‑cause investigations for in‑service incidents, producing comprehensive analytical reports that inform corrective actions and enhance operational safety.
- Drive continuous improvement in engine maintainability, initiating updates to maintenance procedures that optimize performance and reduce downtime.
- Analyze health‑monitoring data and engine parameters to troubleshoot engine fault codes and issues in‑service and provide maintenance recommendations.
- Perform advanced data analysis on engine removals and reliability metrics to identify systemic trends, propose actionable solutions and support fleet‑wide reliability enhancements.
- Ensure product safety, reliability and improvement through the activities above.
- Defines project objectives and develops procedures, identifies problems, and recommends solutions, requesting expenditure.
- Has authority to act at his own discretion, with short‑term review by the Director of Engineering Support.
- Confidentiality:
Divulging of confidential or sensitive information may damage the corporation’s reputation or competitive posture.
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering (master’s degree preferred).
- Preferred: A&P Mechanic certification or experience in aeronautical maintenance.
- Good working knowledge of gas turbine engines and/or helicopter systems.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work in a multi‑project and multicultural environment.
- Comfortable presenting to an audience or customers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; familiarity with French is a plus.
- Travel:
Domestic and international travel required (10%). - Physical requirements:
ability to use hands, stand frequently, lift up to 10 lb regularly and up to 25 lb occasionally. - ITAR controlled position (U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required).
Bachelor’s degree and more than 3 years of relevant experience.
