Position Title: Application Engineer, Power Distribution

Location: Peachtree Corners, GA / Grand Prairie, TX (Remote)

Responsibilities
  • Generate new business opportunities for Low Voltage Switchgear, Switchboards, Panel boards, Busway, and unit substations, ensuring competitive pricing.
  • Collaborate with Siemens Sales and direct customers in data center, industrial, and construction markets on technical, contractual, and commercial issues.
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate contract terms; draft and submit bids.
  • Respond to requests for proposals (RFPs, RFQs, and other bid requests).
  • Follow up on opportunities to confirm whether they have been won, lost, or abandoned.
  • Work with internal teams to produce project plans, budgets, and time frames.
  • Engage in commercial contract negotiations with both customers and suppliers.
  • Keep accurate records of all contracts, bids, and proposals.
  • Create and modify project drawings and schematics using AutoCAD.
  • Monitor sector trends and competitor actions to identify prospective opportunities and risks.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conventions, and other industry events.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience preparing proposals and bidding on projects.
  • Basic technical knowledge of electrical distribution products and systems.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • Fundamental financial and commercial aptitude.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice as required.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Analytical mindset and creative problem‑solving ability.
  • Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards for low voltage equipment.
  • Experience with low voltage switch gear products in data center environments.
  • Experience evaluating single line diagrams, PLC relay schemes, and communication network diagrams.
