Manufacturing Engineer Senior (Level
3)
A role in the Advanced Programs Manufacturing team responsible for improving producibility of early designs and creating manufacturing plans and processes during transition to low‑rate initial production.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure designs are producible, cost‑competitive, and ready for production.
- Evaluate designs and provide manufacturing feedback to improve producibility.
- Develop manufacturing‑readiness assessments and proposal packages.
- Perform make/buy determinations and present findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Production Operations, Program Management, and Engineering & Technology teams.
- Support fabrication of early‑development builds and present at design/manufacturing reviews.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline (e.g., mechanical, manufacturing, electrical, chemical).
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance;
Interim Secret clearance is required prior to start. - Broad knowledge of electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical production.
- Professional experience with product manufacturability (DFM), producibility, and design for cost (DFC).
- Experience designing and manufacturing complex electromechanical systems.
- Experience with electromechanical assembly, manufacturing tooling design, factory design, and factory flow.
- Shop‑floor Manufacturing Engineering experience.
- Experience in program development with emphasis on cross‑functional collaboration and leadership.
- Statement of work and proposal development experience.
- Experience with Make‑Buy generation and strategy.
- Experience designing manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, machining, and material handling.
- Knowledge or experience with Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL).
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification.
Location: Dallas, Texas
Schedule: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
Part‑time remote telework is expected for a portion of the work schedule; schedules may vary.
Security ClearanceThis position requires US citizenship and a government security clearance. The selected candidate must obtain a Secret clearance, with an interim Secret clearance required prior to start.
