Description:

Mechanical Engineer to perform hands on production support, research, and product development. Responsible for research, specifications, planning, design, development, and testing of aerospace products. Performs research and/or product development testing encompassing multiple engineering disciplines, such as electrical, and mechanical. This is an opportunity for a Research Engineer to work in the Environmental Test Lab.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the fundamental concepts of structural dynamics, random vibration theory, and digital signal analysis.
  • 3+ professional years experience in design, set up, and execute of vibration testing.
  • Knowledge of safety critical testing protocols, hazard analysis methods, and compliance documentation.
  • Ability to obtain a clearance

Desired

Skills:

  • Knowledge of computer software applications in the Microsoft suite.
  • Experience implementing lean or Six Sigma methodologies to increase test throughput, reduce cycle time, or enhance data quality.
  • Experience in technical writing for development of test reports and procedures.
  • Experience performing tasks on teams across multiple functional groups (electrical, software, quality, and manufacturing) and mentoring junior engineers or technicians.

Security Clearance Statement:

    The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
  • Work Schedules:
    Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
