As the Advanced Manufacturing Systems Engineer you will manage the design, implementation, and optimization of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Factory Information Systems (FIS), and robotics within the manufacturing environment. We ask that you have an understanding of manufacturing processes, information systems, automation technologies, and control engineering to enhance operational efficiency, data management, and production capabilities.
In this role you will report directly to the Operational Excellence Manager, and you will work on-site at our Aerospace Transparencies Production facility in Grand Prairie, TX.
Responsibilities:- Be engaged in safety; participate in site safety programs and ensure operational discipline and compliance with both company and regulatory safety standards.
- Design and implement MES (GE Proficy) and FIS solutions to support real-time monitoring, control, and optimization of manufacturing processes. Collaborate with teams to integrate robotics and control systems into production areas, ensuring seamless operation and data flow.
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement through MES, FIS, robotics, and control systems. Use Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to improve plans.
- Design, program, and implement control systems for automated equipment and processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Develop control algorithms to improve production efficiency and product quality.
- Develop data collection systems to capture measurements and production metrics. Create dashboards and reports to provide insights into production performance, and quality.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for MES, FIS, robotics, and control systems to ensure performance and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, coordinating with IT and engineering teams.
- Work with production, quality assurance, and IT teams to ensure understanding of systems with operational goals. Train and support manufacturing staff on the use of MES, FIS, robotics, and control technologies.
- Lead projects aimed at implementing new technologies and systems to enhance manufacturing capabilities. Monitor project progress, ensuring completion within budget constraints.
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing systems engineering, with a focus on MES, FIS, robotics, and control systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation technologies, and data management systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages and software relevant to MES (GE Proficy), robotics, and control systems (e.g., SQL, Python, and PLC programming).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
