Mechanical Design Engineer Staff
You will be the Mechanical Engineering Designer Staff for an Advanced Programs weapon program supporting Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) development. Our team is responsible for developing and implementing detailed designs and layouts of the air vehicle system, driving innovation and excellence in the field. What You Will Be Doing:
As the Mechanical Engineering Designer Staff, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical design in creating detailed designs, layouts, and drawings for various components and subassemblies. You will play a key role in developing and generating CREO layouts, detailed drawings, and design documentation, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles
- Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM
- Coordinating with the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence
- Managing drawing releases and CN's of the mechanical design team
- Generating design review artifacts for subsystem and system-level design assurance, PDRs, and CDRs
- Performing design trade studies to evaluate cost, weight, optical performance, and structural/thermal benefits
- Interfacing directly with avionics, structures, propulsion, and subsystem manufacturers to ensure product integrity in accordance with design requirements, performance, and test parameters, as well as design reviews and deliverables are achieved on schedule
