Sr. Quality Engineer-Grand Prairie, TX

Lockheed Martin is seeking a motivated and driven Quality Engineer for a position based in Grand Prairie, TX. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for leading and implementing advanced Quality Engineering initiatives within a manufacturing environment.

This position is intended to support the program and production rate increase by leading project-specific growth/improvement activities.

The Quality Engineer will collaborate and partner with other functions including Program Manager, Proposal Manager, Contracts, Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Production Operations and Customers.

Typical Sr Quality Engineer has a bachelors degree and 5-10 years of experience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher education from an accredited college in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Aerospace, etc.)
  • Experienced practitioner of quality management systems and their various tasks (e.g. AS9100, ISO
    9001, AS9145) across value stream operations with demonstrated ability to work at all levels of the organization to address major QMS tactical and systemic events
  • Thorough understanding of Mechanical and Design principles with knowledge of Machine Shop practices, Tooling design, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) with demonstrated ability to interpret contractual and technical data (e.g. drawings, specifications) to troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions
  • Experience in establishing Performance Metrics for identifying process improvement
  • Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a secret clearance
  • Experience working with Government customers/representatives (e.g. Program Office, DCMA)

Desired

Skills:

  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification or ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA)
  • Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical / process issues varying from basic to very complex.
  • Quality Engineering or Supplier Quality experience as well as experience with developing and reviewing Quality Standards, methods, work instructional and procedures for inspection
  • An understanding of the Missiles & Fire Control (MFC) SAP and Procure to Pay (P2P) business systems
  • Experience with performing/reviewing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements and/or Production Part Approval Process documentation.
  • Experience with control and disposition of non-conforming Material (Material Review Board)

    The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
  • Work Schedules:
    Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
  • Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
