Position Title:
Manufacturing Engineer – PLC
Hours:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/Week
Develop and implement projects utilizing Siemens Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) Portal while adhering to internally developed programming standards. Provide technical support, guidance, and training to production teams for PLC‑related issues, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identity areas for process and productivity improvement, equipment optimization, and automation opportunities. Design, integrate, and implement new production processes, fixtures, jigs, and machines.
Implement engineering change notifications including updates to label and laser printing, bill of materials, kanban materials, MES systems, and trace data. Participate in and lead improvement projects to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and productivity.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree Mechatronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or as an Automation Engineer or a related occupation. The position requires two (2) years of experience with the following skills:
- Programming Siemens S7 PLCs and HMIs using TIA Portal, WinCC, SafetyES, or SIRIUS software
- Scripting languages, such as C, C++, Node Red, FBD
- Production processes required to manufacture circuit breakers
- Configuring or developing laser marking and vision systems
- Low and high voltage circuit breaker testing, such as insulation resistance testing and primary injection testing
- Equipment design and integration including Electrical and 3D design, such as Solid Edge, ePlan, Eagle, etc.
