Electro-Mechanical Avionics Technician

The Electro-Mechanical Avionics Technician is responsible for carrying out production or maintenance tasks on a range of equipment, ensuring all work complies with approved technical data and quality manual standards.

• Conduct standard testing procedures on various equipment and validate the results.
• Perform repairs on aviation units in compliance with FAA regulations and in accordance with the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) requirements.
• Disassemble, clean, and visually inspect parts to identify issues or wear.

• Capable of performing new entries in Capability P145 independently, without engineering support.
• Fully proficient in the documentation and procedural requirements for entering new repair capabilities under Capability P145.
• Skilled at evaluating repair processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards, and autonomously completing all necessary technical and administrative tasks related to capability entry.
• Able to identify and implement process improvements and troubleshoot potential issues during qualification without relying on engineering department assistance.
• Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electro-mechanical systems. Proven ability to work independently on a wide range of Shop Replaceable Units (SRUs), applying both electronic and mechanical knowledge to maintain operational readiness and reliability.
• Experience includes component-level repairs, system integration checks, and maintaining adherence to industry standards and safety regulations.
• Capable of mentoring and assisting lower-level technicians in troubleshooting down to the component level of an SRU.
• Assist and mentor junior technicians during troubleshooting activities, even if they are not yet signed off on the Line Replaceable Unit (LRU).
• Provide clear explanations of LRU functions and operational principles to support their development.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of LRUs and associated test stands, including how they operate individually and interact as integrated systems.
• Serve as a primary point of reference for Engineering support by offering technical expertise, troubleshooting guidance, and clarifications related to LRUs and system testing. 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Basic level of Microsoft Suite:
Outlook, Word, Excel
• Knowledge of 5S, Lean and Kaizen methods is a plus
• Knowledge of production and repair tools and benches, instrumentation and measuring skills
• Knowledge of FAA regulations and understanding of quality requirements
• Compliance with safety rules (PPE – Personal Prevention Equipment)
• Compliance with procedures and standards – knowledge of CMM requirements Leadership Skills / Management Skills / Personal Skills

Travel Specificity:
Potential travel between Grand Prairie, Texas and other locations is not expected (up to 0%). Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position and occasionally move about the office and shop floor. Constantly operates and use a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copier/printer and laboratory machinery. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information.

The ability to observe, identify and assess details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds across office for various needs. Work Environment:
