Location: Grand Prairie, TX
Position Status: Full-Time
Hours: Monday-Friday 6:45am-3:30pm and one Saturday required per month 8:00am-12:00pm
Responsibilities- The Mammography Technologist operates x-ray equipment and performs a variety of mammography-related diagnostic procedures.
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.
- Provide services and support for the following areas:
- Understand, promote and demonstrate the Solis Way; communicate procedures and educate patients about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health.
- Communicate effectively with doctors, patients, and other employees on an individual and small group basis.
- Apply common sense in carrying out detailed or complex written or oral instructions.
- Maintain a patient-first focus and exhibit outstanding customer service; consistently practice excellent mammography positioning and exposure techniques.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
- Practice safe procedures and adhere to radiation safety measures under the supervision of the Radiology supervisor or Radiologist.
- Assist the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies, and complete patient education regarding the exam.
- Perform diagnostic or screening mammograms as ordered.
- Texas Medical Board License - TMB
- Current ARRT in Mammography certification or eligible to take advanced level exam with documentation of clinical experience
- Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology
- Continuing
Education:
MQSA/FDA - 15 CEU’s every 3 years; 200 documented case numbers every 2 years - Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred
