Description
You will be the Subcontract Manager for the Lower Tier Air & Missile Defense team. Our team drives the Evolutionary Development effort for Lockheed Martin’s critical Air and Missile Defense programs, partnering directly with program managers, engineers, supplier quality, and subcontractor leadership to secure producible, cost‑effective solutions early in the design cycle.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Subcontract Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all subcontract activities that support a major corporate‑focus development effort. You’ll serve as the primary liaison between Lockheed Martin and our lower‑tier suppliers, ensuring contracts are executed flawlessly, risks are mitigated, and delivery schedules are met.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Training and mentoring new and experienced team members.
- Managing the full life cycle of subcontracts—drafting, negotiating, awarding, and closing out agreements.
- Conducting subcontract administration and procurement tasks, including purchase order creation, change order processing, and invoice reconciliation.
- Collaborating with program managers, engineers, and supplier quality to identify and resolve technical and schedule risks early in the design phase.
- Monitoring subcontractor performance against contract terms, milestones, and key performance indicators.
- Leading risk assessments, developing mitigation plans, and driving corrective actions when needed.
- Maintaining accurate records in the GSC system and ensuring compliance with corporate policies, FAR/DFARS, and export control regulations.
- Preparing status reports, dashboards, and executive briefings for senior leadership and customer stakeholders.
- Facilitating continuous improvement initiatives to enhance subcontracting processes and reduce cost, schedule, and quality variances.

LocationThis position is in Dallas (Texas).
Citizenship & Clearance RequirementsMUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN. The position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance; a company‑sponsored interim secret is required to start.
Basic Qualifications- Experience with complex, development subcontracts
- Thorough knowledge of FAR/DFARS Contracts
- Must have the ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearance
- Able to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to travel when required; less than 25%
- Significant knowledge of LMAP/CAP procedures
- Experience with Lockheed Martin Procurement/ERP Systems
- Proven ability to train and mentor new and less experienced team members
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work RemotelyPart‑time Remote Telework:
The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five‑day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time Off benefits.
