Employment Type:
Full-Time.
First shift: 7:00AM-4:00PM.
Pay: $18.00-$22.00.
OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Material Handler to support our fire pump equipment production team. This role is responsible for safely handling raw materials and components, preparing materials for fabrication, and ensuring efficient workflow throughout the shop. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with material handling equipment, measurement tools, hoisting systems, and band saw operation.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, organize, and stage materials for production.
- Move steel, pipe, pump components, and other materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hoists.
- Measure and verify material dimensions using proper tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Operate a band saw to cut materials to precise specifications.
- Prepare materials for machining, welding, or assembly.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and update documentation as required.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and equipment.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Collaborate with production team members to ensure timely workflow.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in material handling within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Minimum 2 years sit‑down forklift exp.
- Demonstrated skill operating hoisting equipment and material-handling machinery.
- Proficiency with measurement tools and interpreting cut sheets or work orders.
- Experience operating a band saw and cutting materials accurately.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Experience in pump equipment, machining, steel fabrication, or related industries.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings.
