Omega Operator (Nights Shift)

The Omega Operator is responsible for operating the Omega punching or bending machine used in the fabrication of metal enclosures and components. This role ensures that parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with CNC or automated fabrication equipment and a strong understanding of sheet metal processes. This position supports the Komax/Omega team and reports directly to the VP of Operations - New Production Introduction.
This position will work Monday - Friday 4:00pm to 12:30am
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate the Omega machine to punch, bend, or form metal parts according to production drawings and specifications.
- Load and unload materials, monitor machine operation, and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy, dimensions, and defects using measuring tools such as calipers and gauges.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the Omega machine to ensure optimal performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
- Record production data and report any issues or discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE while operating machinery.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Assist with material handling and staging of parts for downstream processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of experience operating CNC or automated fabrication equipment;
Omega machine experience preferred. - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes and materials.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and metal materials.
- Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required.
- May require overtime or weekend shifts based on production needs.
