The Operations Director for Aerospace Transparencies leads the organization of the Global Transparencies business, ensuring operational excellence, safety, quality, and supply chain integrity across multiple manufacturing locations. The role reports to the GM of Global Transparencies and can be based in Sylmar, CA;
Grand Prairie, TX; or Huntsville, AL.

You Will Manage
  • 4 Manufacturing Sites in 2 different Countries (Sylmar, CA; Huntsville, AL; Grand Prairie, TX in the USA & Casaletto Vaprio, Italy)
  • The Transparencies Supply Chain CoE Manager
Key Responsibilities
  • Be actively engaged in Safety and Quality; lead by example and ensure operational discipline and compliance with company and regulatory standards and requirements for all departments on site.
  • Regularly monitor and review Environmental, Health, and Safety performance; ensure compliance and continuous improvement toward a risk‑free manufacturing environment.
  • Build and develop an operations and supply chain culture that biases action, commits to value‑added services/processes, and fosters accountability and leadership.
  • Monitor and improve Key Performance Indicators; lead corrective action for any deviations to the plan.
  • Facilitate communications throughout the sites and within the respective Business, Program, and Functional teams off‑site.
  • Collaborate with Functional teams leading S&OP, Supplier Management and Development, and Procurement, aligning on tactical and strategic needs.
  • Provide critical thinking necessary to analyze alternative approaches and methodologies for efficiencies and simplicity.
  • Strive to ensure that the service requirements for performance, as dictated by internal and external customers, are achieved.
  • Develop and manage strategies and processes of the operational functions within the business; ensure alignment and progress on process standardization, accomplishment, and collaboration.
  • Delegate work assignments and tasks, match responsibilities to employees, set expectations, monitor performance, and provide feedback and recognition.
  • Deliver financial commitments to operating plans; achieve expense, variance, and production plans as budgeted.
  • Actively participate in Working Capital management; communicate and act to address deviations to the plan.
  • Anticipate technological changes in industry and review opportunities to enhance operations for productivity, business growth, and competitive advantage.
  • Generate ideas and plans to enhance manufacturing performance—safety, process, rate, yields, and quality—through lean manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts; motivate plant managers and staff to innovate.
  • Drive the root‑cause/corrective action process for critical issues and ensure all corrective actions are completed, sustained, and achieve predicted results.
  • Ensure conformance with PPG and SBU Quality and EH&S policies; complete MOCs, RCCA for EHS and Quality CARs as expected.
Qualifications
  • Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline; engineering preferred.
  • 10+ years of operations and engineering experience in discrete manufacturing, particularly in highly regulated, low‑volume, high‑mix engineered products environments.
  • 5+ years of management/supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and prioritize multiple, competing tasks.
  • Demonstrated success in driving improved performance and metrics.
  • Leadership skills: lead and drive cross‑functional teams, influence adoption of new ideas, develop high‑growth talent, and create short‑and long‑term vision for site policies, processes, and structures.
  • Available to travel domestically and internationally.

Salary Range: $180,000–$250,000
