Ink Technician

Position Overview

Ink Technician – Converting Plant, Grand Prairie, TX. 3/2 Night shift (7pm–7am). This role reports to the Shift Supervisor / Prepress Supervisor.

• Prepare and blend raw materials for ink, primer, and adhesive formulation
• Formulate and tone colors for press runs
• Maintain press ink supply and prepare materials for upcoming jobs
• Manage ink inventory and related materials
• Process returned inks and track solvent usage
• Input data into the PRISM system
• Handle, store, and label hazardous materials
• Support press changeovers
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area
• Operate equipment including lift trucks and pallet jacks
• Contribute to waste reduction initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Minimum 2years of ink technician experience preferred
• Proficiency in color matching and blending (must pass Farnsworth‑Munsell 100‑Hue Color Vision Test)
• Knowledge of PRISM, SPEC, and X‑RITE systems
• Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
• Excellent attention to detail
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Google Apps)
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain
• Understanding of safety protocols for handling hazardous materials
• Strong communication skills
• Time‑management and organizational abilities
• Must be 18years of age or older
• Must pass a pre‑employment assessment, drug screening, and background check

• Lifting up to 50pounds
• Regular climbing, kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, and reaching
• Ability to push and pull, stand and walk for extended periods
• Color vision discrimination test required
• Manual dexterity for operating equipment; ability to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel‑toe shoes, safety glasses)
• Work in a manufacturing environment with noise levels above 85dB, solvents, fumes, inks, variable temperatures
• Must work flexible shifts; overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required

Additional $2.50per hour premium for NIGHT shift work between 7pm and 7am. Hours worked outside this window will not receive the premium.
