This is precision repair and overhaul work on aircraft engine and propeller components, not repetitive production machining. J & S Plating and Repair operates an FAA Part 145 repair station in Grand Prairie, where setups, work holding, and machining strategy matter as much as running the cycle, and every job can bring a different challenge. We're looking for an experienced CNC Machinist who enjoys solving machining problems and wants to help develop better repair processes over time, working on close-tolerance aerospace components rather than the same part day after day.

Your primary responsibility is setting up and operating CNC machines to manufacture and repair precision aerospace components.

• Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and repair documentation
• Set work offsets, tool offsets, and wear compensation
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
• Machine close-tolerance aerospace components
• Troubleshoot tooling, setup, and machining issues
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience
• Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes
• Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
• Strong understanding of tooling, work holding, feeds, and speeds
• Experience making setup adjustments and troubleshooting machining issues
• Ability to inspect your own work using precision measuring equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently
• CAD Certification
• English language proficiency
• Able to pass a drug screen before starting work

• Experience designing or modifying fixtures and work holding
• Conversational or G-code programming experience
• Manual machining experience
• Aerospace machining experience
• Low-volume or repair machining background
• Process improvement experience

Pay starts at $25.00 per hour and increases based on experience. This is a full-time, day-shift position paid bi-weekly.
