The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience operating and programming CNC machines, with preferred familiarity with Zimmermann high-speed milling machines.

This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of producing precision components while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities Operate, set up, and monitor CNC milling machines, with a focus on Zimmermann portal/gantry milling systems

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files to determine machining requirements

Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs (G-code/M-code) for complex part geometries

Perform tool selection, tool changes, and offsets to ensure dimensional accuracy

Conduct first-article inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM)
Identify and resolve machine faults, tooling issues, and program errors proactively

Perform routine maintenance and coordinate with maintenance teams for scheduled servicing

Maintain accurate production records, inspection logs, and machine utilization reports

Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and procedures

Collaborate with engineers, quality teams, and production planners to meet delivery targets

Mentor and support junior CNC operators as needed

Required Qualifications & Skills Education High  School Diploma or GED (required)
Technical/Vocational Certificate or Associate's Degree in Machining Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field(preferred)
Experience Minimum 5+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment

Demonstrated experience with large-format or gantry-style CNC milling machines

Strong knowledge of CNC control systems

Technical Skills Expert-level understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection equipment

Ability to machine a variety of materials including acrylic.

Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters

Familiarity with 5-axis machining operations

Preferred Qualifications Direct hands-on experience with

F. Zimmermann milling machines (e.g., FZ Series)
Experience in aerospace, manufacturing sectors

Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement (Kaizen, 5S)
Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced pro
