$24.00 To $26.25 Hourly

The Matt Lead will oversee and lead production employees in the mattress build department (Coils, Foam Encase, Mattress Build Up, Kitter, Tape Edge, Tufting, Handtied, and Box Upholstery). Matt Lead will have familiarity with SAFETY standards. Experience in leading, coaching, and training personnel on product quality standards and mattress/foundation box building procedures throughout the department.

• Organize the workflow at the beginning of the shift to ensure continuous production flow to achieve daily production schedule and hourly targets
• Ensure every piece goes through the correct matt build process from scanning to pack out
• Upholding quality standards throughout the matt build process while completing the daily production schedule
• Training and coaching team members on tasks based on job assignments.
• Continuous improvement ideas and alignment with management
• Continuous communication and collaboration with other department leads/supervisors, and Expeditor to ensure on time completion of production pieces
• Cover/assist on the production line as needed
• Lead and motivate a team of production associates to achieve productivity, accuracy, and safety targets
• Maintains a safe, clean and orderly workstation. Sweeps work area and removes debris regularly throughout the shift
• Other duties may be assigned as needed

• 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing facility leading large production teams (20+ employees)
• Combination of experience with Foam Encase, Matt Build, Tape Edge, Box Spring/Foundation
• Experience with use of pneumatic tools (preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a practical, methodical way while working with a sense of urgency.
• Use required PPE Personal Protective Equipment:
  Safety Glasses, Safety Vest, and Gloves

• Lift up to 75 pounds or more with team lifting on a regular basis.
• Frequent and extended standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, and reaching for 8+hours

• This position works in a production floor setting.
• Travel is not required.
