Registered Nurse, Neurovascular ICU (Night Shift - Full Time)
Location: Medical City Dallas
Job SummaryThe RN coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care in the Neurovascular ICU, collaborating with medical providers and the care team. Using nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage,” the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, advocates for patients, and supports departmental performance.
Responsibilities- Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and documents administration of care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
- Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex medical terminology to ensure understanding.
- Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes; prepares patients and families for future self‑management.
- Manages evidence‑based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures and enhance the exceptional care provided to patients.
- Manages the quality of care by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes and supports recovery.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- No travel required.
- 1 year of experience required.
