Position: Quality Manager- Part 145 Helicopter repair station

Minimum 5–7 years of experience in helicopter maintenance, with at least 3 years in a quality or inspection leadership role.

  • Strong working knowledge of FAA Part 145 requirements.
  • Experience with rotorcraft platforms (e.g., Airbus, Bell, Leonardo, Sikorsky).
  • Ability to interpret technical data, engineering drawings, and regulatory documents.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
  • A&P certificate

    IA (preferred).
  • Experience with AS9110, ISO 9001, or similar quality systems.
  • Prior experience interacting with FAA inspectors.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States.

Job Description

The Quality Manager oversees and maintains the Repair Station’s FAA Part 145 quality system, ensuring all helicopter maintenance, inspection, and alteration activities comply with regulatory, customer, and organizational requirements. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), oversight of technical records, internal audits, supplier control, and ensuring airworthiness standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Compliance & Oversight
    • Ensure full compliance with 14 CFR Part 145, Part 43, Part 65, and applicable manufacturer data.
    • Maintain and update the Repair Station and Quality Control Manual (RSQM/QCM).
    • Serve as the primary liaison with the FAA, including coordination of audits, corrective actions, and reporting requirements.
    • Monitor regulatory changes and implement updates to procedures and training.
  • Quality System Management
    • Manage the Quality Control and Inspection functions, including direct oversight of Inspectors and Records personnel.
    • Approve, control, and audit technical data, including maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and engineering instructions.
    • Oversee calibration programs, tooling control, and equipment traceability.
    • Ensure proper handling of non‑conforming parts, including quarantine, disposition, and reporting (e.g., Suspected Unapproved Parts).
  • Audits & Continuous Improvement
    • Plan and conduct internal audits of all departments in accordance with the QMS.
    • Manage external audits, including FAA, customer, and OEM audits.
    • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes.
    • Track quality metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Training & Quality Culture
    • Ensure Inspectors and technicians are properly qualified, authorized, and trained.
    • Maintain training records and ensure compliance with recurrent training requirements.
    • Provide coaching and guidance to promote a strong quality and safety culture.
  • Technical Records & Documentation
    • Oversee maintenance records, logbook entries, work orders, and airworthiness release documentation.
    • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of all maintenance records.
    • Maintain traceability for all parts, including 8130‑3 forms and OEM documentation.
    • Approve and monitor vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
    • Ensure incoming parts meet airworthiness requirements and proper documentation standards.
    • Oversee inventory control processes related to quality and traceability.
