Quality Control / Manager, Quality Technician/ Inspector, QA Specialist / Manager
Responsible for maintaining and improving the existing Quality Management System at LKQ Corporation, coordinating activities focused on continuous improvement and ISO
9001/ISO-TS 16949 compliance. Design, document, and implement ISO compliant systems on new processes according to business changes.
- Maintain and improve the existing Quality Management System
- Coordinate the Corrective Action Request and Prevent Action System
- Coordinate the documentation system
- Coordinate internal, external, and LPA audits
- Coordinate equipment calibration and compliance
- Coordinate Management Review process
- Coordinate monthly metrics review meetings with LKQ plants and management
- Coordinate weekly warranty reduction meetings with Quality manager
- Actively participate in ongoing continuous improvement projects
- Two‑year certificate from college in Quality Assurance or completed related technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of experience
- Automotive knowledge
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Two years minimum in Quality Assurance in the automotive industry
- Knowledge in ISO 9001/TS 16949, AIAG Core tools
- CAR closing acceptance/rejection based on ISO‑9001 international standard requirements
- Procedure updates acceptance/rejection based on ISO‑9001 international standard requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) can be considered a plus
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to read, understand and convert from/to Standard/Metric measuring systems
- Problem solving techniques, ISO 9000 or ISO/TS 16949 Internal Auditor, AIAG Core tools knowledge would be required
- Lean manufacturing principles would be considered a plus
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to:stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods of time; may be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment; must be able to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles that may require getting into awkward positions; may regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE);
may be exposed to extreme temperatures and high noise levels; travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements); and must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
