Qualifications

  • Must have experience performing Avionics functions on Bell, Airbus or Leonardo helicopters.
  • Airbus, Bell or Leonardo MRO training certificates preferred.
  • Knowledge of equipment and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Good understanding of theory of avionics and electrical system operation and sound reasoning and deduction.
  • Knowledge of using technical data to support the installation process, such as wiring diagrams, technical manuals, Supplemental Type Certificate documentation, Repair Station Manual, and Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Communicates well, both verbally and in writing.
  • Works effectively with limited supervision.
  • Flexible and able to easily adjust to change.
  • Results- and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent work ethic that demonstrates dedication, concern for safety, and integrity.
  • MUST BE A LEGAL RESIDENCE OF THE UNITED STATES.
  • Must be willing to travel as the need arises.
  • Must be willing to work 2nd shift as the need arises.
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License - preferred, not required.
Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Avionics Technician conducts routine inspections of avionics equipment to avoid equipment failures. When these inspections reveal problems or if pilots report a problem with a particular aircraft, technicians diagnose and repair the problem. The technicians work as part of a team, striving for a safe and successful mission by keeping the work scope on track, on budget, and in compliance with FAA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Layout and assist with system installations.
  • Perform system calibrations and functional checks.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace malfunctioning components or assemblies.
  • Interpret flight test data to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Remove and install electrical, electronic, and avionics components, assemblies, and system wiring in aircraft.
  • Coordinate work with engineers, technicians, and other aircraft maintenance personnel.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
  • Install complex aircraft avionics and electrical systems using detailed installation guidelines, necessary ground support equipment, and required tooling.

Physical Requirements
  • Required to work frequently near moving mechanical parts.
  • Required to work in outside weather conditions.
  • Exposed to loud noise levels.
  • May be required to work after hours and on weekends as needed.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Able to use arms, hands, and legs to accomplish tasks.
  • Able to sit, stand, and squat for extended periods of time.
  • Able to climb with balance on and off aircraft.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking.
