Fire Sprinkler Service Technician
The Fire Sprinkler Service Fitter is responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of office sprinkler systems in existing commercial and industrial facilities. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, professional customer interaction, and knowledge of applicable fire codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, test, service, and repair fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards
- Diagnose system issues and perform corrective repairs
- Replace sprinkler heads, valves, gauges, fittings, and related components
- Perform annual, quarterly, and periodic inspections and testing
- Document inspections, deficiencies, and repairs accurately
- Communicate findings and recommendations to customers in a professional manner
- Coordinate service calls and follow up on corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with NFPA, AHJ requirements, and company policies
- Maintain service vehicle, tools, and equipment
- Follow OSHA and company safety procedures at all times
What You'll Bring:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 5+ years of fire sprinkler service experience preferred
- Working knowledge of NFPA 13, 13D, 13R, and NFPA 25
- Ability to read service tickets, inspection reports, and system drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding
- Ability to work in mechanical rooms, ceilings, and confined spaces
- Willingness to work in varied weather conditions
Preferred
Certifications:
- NICET (any level)
- State or local Fire Sprinkler Fitter license
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
Work Schedule & Environment:
- Full-time, non-union position
- On-call or after-hours service is required
- Commercial and industrial customer sites
