Job Description:
Midwest Drywall isseeking skilled and experienced Commercial Carpenters to join our team. As aCommercial Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures in commercial buildings. Your precision, attention to detail,and ability to work efficiently will be critical to the success of our projects.
Responsibilities:
- Installation:
Measure, cut,install, and finish drywall, metal studs, ceilings, partitions, backing,and related materials in commercial construction projects. Ensure installations are completed accurately and in accordance with project specifications. - Framing and Layout:
Perform layout and installation of metal framing and related components. Work with foremen, carpenters, superintendents, and other trades to ensure proper dimensions, elevations, alignment, and sequencing of work. - Drywall Finishing:
Perform drywall finishing activities, including taping, mudding, sanding,patching, texturing, and preparing surfaces for paint or other finishes.
Ensure finished surfaces meet project and company quality standards. - Repairs and Patching:
Repair damaged or uneven surfaces by patching and replacing drywall as needed. - Reading Blueprints:
Interpret and work from blueprints and drawings to ensure accurate drywall and other material installation. - Materials and Equipment:
Safely use and maintain hand tools, power tools, lifts, and other equipment required for drywall, framing, ceiling, and finishing activities. Assist with material handling and ensure materials are used efficiently to minimize waste. - Health and Safety:
Comply with safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others. Ensure the job site is clean and tidyafter completing tasks.
Skills and
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience as aCommercial Drywall Carpenter, Drywall Installer, Finisher, or similar rolein commercial construction
- Proficiency in using various hand and power tools related to drywall installation and finishing.
- Strong knowledge of drywall materials, techniques, and industry standards.
- Physical strength and staminato handle heavy drywall sheets and perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, bending, standing, climbing, and working at heights as required.
- Good communication skills towork effectively with other team members on the construction site.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in an active commercial construction environment.
- Willingness to travel to andwork at various project locations as required.
